For Parents

☎️ Step 1 – Initial Telephone Consultation
A complimentary telephone consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your child's needs, answer any questions, and explore whether play therapy may be the right support for your child.

👨‍👩‍👧 Step 2 – Parent Consultation
A face-to-face consultation is arranged to gain a deeper understanding of your child's experiences and individual needs. This will then inform therapeutic goals. During this meeting we will:

  • Gather background information

  • Discuss concerns and hopes for therapy

  • Discuss confidentiality and safeguarding

  • Discuss where sessions will take place

  • Complete consent forms

🧸 Step 3 – Play Therapy Sessions Begin
Your child begins regular play therapy sessions within a safe, supportive, and confidential therapeutic environment.

💬 Step 4 – Review Meetings
Every 6–8 weeks, we will meet with parents or carers to review progress, discuss therapeutic goals, and ensure the support continues to meet your child's needs.

📄 Step 5 – End of Therapy Report (if requested)
At the end of the therapeutic journey, you will receive a written report summarising your child's progress, outcomes, and any recommendations for ongoing support.

For Schools

🏫 Step 1 – Service Agreement
The school agrees a sessional or morning rate, with the option to support up to three children within a morning.

🤝 Step 2 – Referral Consultation
A discussion takes place with the Headteacher, SENCO, and/or relevant pastoral staff to identify pupils who may benefit from play therapy and gather referral information.

👨‍👩‍👧 Step 3 – Parent Consultation
A face-to-face meeting is arranged with parents or carers. This will then inform therapeutic goals. During this meeting we will:

  • Gather background information

  • Discuss concerns and hopes for therapy

  • Discuss confidentiality and safeguarding

  • Complete consent forms

🧸 Step 4 – Play Therapy Sessions Begin
Regular play therapy sessions take place within the school setting. Where appropriate, time is allocated for liaison with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), SENCO, and teaching staff to support the child's progress.

💬 Step 5 – Review Meetings
Every 6–8 weeks, we will meet with parents or carers to review progress, discuss therapeutic goals, and ensure the support continues to meet their child's needs.

📄 Step 6 – End of Therapy Report (if requested)
At the end of the therapeutic journey, you will receive a written report summarising your child's progress, outcomes, and any recommendations for ongoing support.
